This is sweet creepy looking, which I always liked. Good muddy color choices and trashy, dirty drippin' looking, mixed with flawlessly detailed and clean face traits. Sorry if my english might seem lousy (second language), keep up the good work, -Mathieu R.

Really good my dear, you deserve that frontpage. I really dig the very black ink blended with the graphite which make a really good mixture, keep up the great work.

Thank you! :D

Interresting

I really like the textures and the idea beind this. The colors could use a bit more research as they seem to be, most of them, pure, out of the tube. Maybe it was on purpose, since the propaganda posters used strong colors, however if you look closely to them, they still were not 100% pure colors. Just adding a little bit of grey to your colors, or a little bit of color to your greys/whites/blacks would make your piece more personal, try experimenting with colors more. Sorry if I am not clear, english not main language. Still pretty good work my dear.

Yeah I wanted it to feel very bold when it came down to colour, but I do agree with u this could have been much better I only had two nights to work on it unfortunately. Thanks for the advice =)

Sweet

I wish I could make such things with clay like that, how do you get that so soft result? When time comes to make it dry it's all crackin' and I have nothing else to do than putting it in the garbage. Tips would be gladly appreciated sir!

PikaRobo responds:

Mine occasionally get hard over time, if it ever 'breaks' I just mold over it.

Good start, need more work.

It's a good start, but it needs more work. May I suggest that you put more time to work on the main parts of the gun first and then you copy and paste it and change some details so it fit another model, that's how I work. These are indeed good, but some parts are still too square-ish. The overall lack lights and shadows , you can surely find some tutorials on the internet to make you understand better how to make shadows and lights and it would greatly improve the look of the guns and how to make them feel like they were more 3D. Also, the wood textures would have been better if you added more than just a line, you could have added just some less dark tones around the line of the wood grain. Don't forget to get a reference picture of the real thing if you lack the information on how it's supposed to look like, it's not cheating , professionals do use reference pictures when they lack the information they need to make things look right. My comment wasn't to make you feel bad about it, You got a lot of potencial , everybody does, but you need to invest more time and effort if you want to improve yourself. Practice practice and practice is the key. I hope that I have given you enough tools to get better and I am looking forward to see your future works!

Sorry for my english,

Mathieu.

Thank you again Don, for the critisism, suggestions, and I agree with all that you said, but classic Kalashnikovs had some wood grain, but mostly stain lines, but i guess i could do more variations

Good one

It is pretty small so it's hard to see the details properly, but I see that you did some shading on the head of your character, if you were working on a bigger size it would have been more noticeable for everyone, keep up the good work!

zakk890 responds:
